About Us
In 1952, fifteen compassionate people came together to establish a safe haven for their community's lost, abandoned and unwanted animals. After functioning as a successful foster network for twenty years, the organization was able to build the current facility on Kennedy Hill Road. The Crawford County Humane Society continues to expand its facility and services in order to meet the needs of the community. Thanks to your generous support, we are able to provide quality care and find loving, permanent homes for our adoptable pets.
Our Mission
The primary purpose of the Crawford County Humane Society is to:
- provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals
- provide proper care for stray and injured animals
- enforce all laws designed for the protection of animals
- secure in lawful manner the arrest, conviction and punishment of all persons violating such laws
- instruct and induce people to be kind, considerate and merciful in their treatment of animals.
